Higher Croft by-election, 2017

2016-20 term

Labour hold

A by-election was held for the Higher Croft ward of Blackburn with Darwen Council on 23 March 2017 following the death of Labour Cllr Don McKinlay.

Adam Holden held the seat for Labour, but appears to have then been immediately disqualified for being employed by a body partially under the control of the council.

This matter should be clarified shortly but if Holden is indeed disqualified then a further by-election will have to be held.

A previous by-election for Higher Croft was held on 15 December 2016, covered here.
