A by-election was held for the Ancoats and Clayton ward of Manchester City Council on 10 October 2013 following the resignation of Labour Cllr Jim Battle.

Donna Ludford held the seat for Labour.

A later by-election was held in Ancoats and Clayton ward on 5 December 2013.
