Labour hold

A by-election was held for the Dawdon division of Durham County (Unitary) Council on 29 June 2017 following the disqualification of Labour Cllr Leanne Kennedy due to being employed by the council when elected in May.

Leanne Kennedy stood for re-election and held the seat for Labour.
